I really like the overall aesthetic and design of this lamp, and it looks beautiful in my living room. However, unfortunately, there are several reasons why I can only give it 2 stars, particularly considering the price.
Firstly, I feel some of the design choices could have been better executed. The black cable feels quite cheap and doesn’t complement the overall design of the lamp — a white/ivory cable would have been much more cohesive and premium-looking.
As the lamp uses a standard on/off switch, I also think the design would have benefited from a glass diffuser to soften and distribute the light more effectively. A dimmer function would have made the lamp significantly more functional and versatile than a generic switch.
The lampshade also arrived with slight damage to the inside, which was disappointing. Additionally, the joining area of the lampshade is very noticeable. I have had to position the lamp carefully so that this section faces the wall and isn’t visible.
The only reason I didn’t return the lamp was because I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of their return process.
Overall, I think the lamp has a lovely aesthetic and clearly looks good once styled, but for the price, too many aspects feel poorly executed or insufficiently thought through. If this lamp had cost around £60/£70, I would probably have given it 4 stars. However, at its current price point, I find the imperfections and lack of attention to detail difficult to overlook.
