This year marks the 15th Anniversary of Global Wellness Day. The day prioritises wellbeing and mental health, and people are encouraged to take some time to look after their own mental and physical health.
The concept was created by Belgin Aksoy, the founder of Global Wellness Day whose slogan is:
One day can change your whole life!
Wellness Day occurs on the second Saturday of June, and there are a number of wellness events worldwide.
How to Celebrate Wellness Day?
Here are our top tips for taking a small step back and making time for yourself this wellness day:
1. Start Your Day With Natural Light
There are a number of benefits associated with natural light including a boost to your mood and overall mental health. A couple of benefits include taking a small moment away from the blue light of phones, and introducing a sense of calm that's triggered by nature. Take the opportunity to open your curtains and enjoy natural light.

2. Create a Screen-Free Morning Routine
If you have a habit of reaching for your phone when you wake up, you could be introducing stress and anxiety before the day has started. A good rule of thumb is to leave your phone alone for 30 minutes to an hour after waking up.
